Atiku’s aide impersonator arrested for duping

Fraudster arrested for impersonating Atiku’s aide and duping over 50 people 

The Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) said yesterday it had captured one Aminu Ahmed Yerima, who was professing to be former VP Atiku Abubakar's assistant on Facebook, to scammed members of the public.

Aminu was captured in his home in Kano after IGP Ibrahim Idris instructed the Commander of IRT, Abba Kyari, to examine the issue when the news got to him.

A best police source said amid cross examination, Aminu conceded cheating more than 50 people on Facebook. He hails from Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, same as the previous VP.
Police said he had fleeced his casualties of expansive wholes of cash, running into millions of naira.
He kept running into trouble when two of his female exploited people petitioned IGP specifying how they were cheated to the tune of N5million.

The 29-year-old stated:
The 29-year-old said: “I obtained a master’s degree from the University of   Ghana, Accra in 2014, and my bachelor’s degree from the Federal University Yola, Adamawa State  in 2010.  I went into fraud in 2016 after I could not secure a job, and I was equally duped by someone on Facebook who wanted to link me up to a sugar mummy. The man who swindled me said the sugar mummy would pay me for sex.  The fraudsters took N30,000 from me and blocked me from communicating with him on Facebook. Then I thought I could do same and make some money since I had no job.”
